Next week I’m heading to Costa Rica to promote environmentally friendly adventure travel while exploring jungles, volcanoes, and seeking out wildlife.
This summer I joined a group of travel & media professionals to launch EcoAdventure Media, an organization dedicated to promoting environmentally sustainable travel brands & destinations around the world.
I’m excited to announce that we have our first client — Visit Costa Rica!
Back in 2011 I traveled to Costa Rica for the first time, spending a month exploring different parts of the country. It was an incredible experience — winding mountain roads, towering volcanoes, beautiful tropical waterfalls, lush jungles, and plenty of interesting wildlife.
Some highlights for me included trekking through Corcovado, swimming at Rio Celeste Waterfall, and hitchhiking down Irazu Volcano.
Even though I’ve been to Costa Rica before, I haven’t seen it all. Not even close. On this trip I’ll be visiting areas I missed the first time around, like Tortuguero National Park, Golfito National Park, and active Arenal Volcano.
My journey will include a mix of nature and adventure while hopefully highlighting what Costa Rica is well known for, its amazing ecotourism experiences.
But I won’t be the only one.
The #EcoCostaRica project includes five other EcoAdventure Media members (Around the World in Eighty Years, BreatheDreamGo, Time Travel Turtle, The Travel Word, and Green Global Travel) and each will be exploring different regions of the country, giving you a full virtual tour of what Costa Rica has to offer for environmentally conscious travelers.
You can follow our Costa Rica adventures in real time on Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, and Instagram with the hashtag #EcoCostaRica.
On Wednesday, November 27th at Noon (EST) members of the EcoAdventure Media team will be talking about Costa Rica live on Travel Coffee Break, a Google Hangout video series. You can sign up to watch and ask us questions here.
To give you a little taste of what traveling to Costa Rica is like, I thought I’d share a slideshow from the last time I was there. Enjoy!
We’ve started posting articles about our adventures in Costa Rica!
#EcoCostaRica is made possible in partnership with Visit Costa Rica and EcoAdventure Media. As always, the content & opinions expressed here are entirely my own.
