(9:55 a.m EDT) — New furniture, USB charging stations and suite privileges are among the enhancements Holland America Line will be rolling out to the suites on its Vista-, Signature- and Rotterdam-class ships.
As part of the $300 million refurbishment program, each suite will be updated with a new sofa, lounge and desk chairs, carpeting and wall covers, as well as a new quartz stone top on the desk, dresser, nightstands and makeup vanity. Electronic upgrades include a USB outlet added the bed’s headboard, LED reading lights and a lighted closet rod. Suite passengers will also have access to a new interactive TV system with free movies on demand.
Top-paying passengers will be privy to new suite-only amenities beginning January 2016, which also include a Bose iPod docking station, in-cabin coffee and espresso machine, binoculars for use during the sailing, and free mimosas with ensuite breakfast.
The first ships to undergo refurbishment will be Eurodam in December 2015 and Oosterdam in April 2016, followed by Nieuw Amsterdam, Westerdam, Zuiderdam and Noordam in 2016. Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Volendam and Zaandam in will be refurbished during their dry docks in 2017 or beyond.
