(9:30 a.m EST) — Claudine Pepin, cookbook author, TV host and daughter of master chef Jacques Pepin, will serve as godmother for Oceania Cruises’ newest ship, Sirena.
The 684-passenger ship, formerly Ocean Princess, will be christened in a ceremony in Barcelona on April 27, 2016. Following the ceremony, Pepin will sail on Sirena’s maiden voyage with her father and other family members, interacting with passengers at cooking demonstrations and book singing events. All passengers booked on the maiden voyage will receive a copy of her cookbook, Let’s Cook French.
Claudine’s father, Jacques Pépin, has been Oceania Cruises’ Executive Culinary Director since the line’s inception. Claudine has joined him on the line’s annual Jacques Pépin Cruise to co-host special culinary events and cooking demonstrations.
“Claudine’s passion for food, wine, travel and deep family traditions make her the perfect choice for ‘s godmother,” said Jason Montague, president and chief operating officer for Oceania Cruises. ” As we continue to expand upon our finest cuisine at sea offerings, we are excited to deepen our relationship with the Pépin family and absolutely thrilled to have Claudine serve as godmother for Sirena.”
