P&O Cruises' Britannia Cruise Ship to Star in Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway

(4:50 p.m GMT) — P&O Cruises has announced that pint-sized presenters, Ant and Dec, will host a special episode of Saturday Night Takeaway live from the top deck of Britannia next year.

The prime-time ITV show will be filmed in front of a live audience of passengers while the ship docks in Barcelona on 2 April 2016.

The 14-night cruise leaves from Southampton on 27 March and calls at Cadiz, Barcelona, Rome, Ajaccio and Gibraltar before returning to Southampton on 10 April.

Saturday Night Takeaway’s Executive Producer, Pete Ogden, said: «I am thrilled to be working with P&O Cruises to shoot a live episode of the series on board Britannia. It is a huge undertaking, but I am confident that we will work together to make it a spectacular event.»

Britannia was named by HM The Queen on March 10, 2015, in a glittering ceremony in Southampton, and is by far the biggest in P&O Cruises’ fleet, carrying 3,647 passengers.

The news follows the recent announcement that Britannia will play host to celebrity cooking show, Battlechefs, starring Marco Pierre White, next year.
