(11:35 a.m. EST) — Continuing its expansion plans, Crystal Cruises announced it would expand its air service in 2016 by adding two private jets.
Crystal Luxury Air currently includes a Boeing 777-200LR and a Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The new jets, a AC1319 and a Bombardier Global Express XRS, will be added in March 2016 and used to service private charters and transport passengers to Crystal cruises from the United States to destinations in the Mediterranean, Indian Ocean and Pacific.
Crystal Cruises CEO and president Edie Rodriguez made the announcement at the christening of the line’s new yacht, Crystal Esprit, in the Seychelles. “With our vast choice of aircrafts, we are confident Crystal Luxury Air will deliver the fast and hassle-free requirements our guests and discerning travelers have been wanting with global air travel,” she said.
The Bombardier Global Express XRS has a two-cabin configuration and accommodates up to 13 passengers. Amenities include executive wide club seats with fold-out tables, conference space, surround sound, a high-temperature oven for meals and an entertainment cabin with a 31.5-inch LCD. The ACI309 jet handles 30 passengers, with 16 flat-bed seats.
The line also announced its new marketing slogan, “All Exclusive,” meant to be a play on its all-inclusive nature. “Since my arrival at Crystal, it has been my vision to grow this brand into something even more magical,” said Rodriguez. “Today, we are reinventing travel in a class all by itself, and All Exclusive is the perfect representation of that. “
Since its acquisition by Genting Hong Kong in March 2015, Crystal Cruises has embarked on a massive expansion program, including a river line scheduled to debut in July 2016, Crystal Yacht Cruises which is currently underway and three new ocean ships in 2018.
