James Beard-winning mixologist Dale DeGroff has partnered with Holland America Line to offer exclusive cocktails across its fleet. Drinks including the Hemingway Daiquiri and the “Slightly Less Than Perfect” Perfect Manhattan will be available at bars onboard Eurodam from January and across the remaining ships by spring. DeGroff will also oversee bartender training.

MSC Cruises Partners with Samsung to Kit Out Next-Generation Ships

MSC Cruises has signed a contract with Samsung to equip its next-generation ships with ‘smart’ technology including in-cabin HDTVs, tablets and public screens. MSC Meraviglia and MSC Seaside will be the first ships to be kitted out with the new gadgets when they come into service in June and December 2017, respectively. A further five new ships will feature the technology as they launch between 2017 and 2022.

Unlimited Free Wi-Fi to Arrive Early on Regent Seven Seas Cruises

Regent Seven Seas Cruises has brought forward its unlimited free Wi-Fi package to start as early as March 2016. Originally set to launch winter 2016-2017, the following dates have been confirmed: March 17, 2016 for Seven Seas Navigator; May 2, 2016 for Seven Seas Voyager and May 8, 2016 for Seven Seas Mariner. The line’s newest ship — Seven Seas Explorer — will have unlimited free Wi-Fi on its maiden voyage on July 20, 2016.

British Chocolatier, Paul A Young, to Host a Chocolate Masterclass on P&O Cruises’ Ventura

British chocolatier, Paul A. Young will host a chocolate-making masterclass onboard P&O Cruises’ Ventura next month. The award-winning artisan will join passengers on a four-night sailing to Amsterdam and Bruges, and will hold a Q&A session and a book signing. Young will also join a shore excursion in Bruges to track down the city’s best chocolate shops. The cruise sets sail from Southampton on February 15.

Oceania Cruises’ Sirena to Feature Custom Italian Mattresses

If the lilting motion of the sea doesn’t put you to sleep, Oceania Cruises promises a restful night onboard Sirena with the introduction of Ultra Tranquility Beds. The Italian mattresses contain 3,000 coil springs — four times the amount found in an average American mattress — as well as silver-threaded thermal fabric and air suspension capabilities designed to alleviate pressure points in the body. The beds will feature in all cabins onboard Sirena when it debuts in April, and will be rolled out to the rest of the fleet during upcoming dry docks.
