(8:30 p.m. AEST) — River cruise specialist Scenic’s ultra-luxury ocean ship, Scenic Eclipse is now open for sale in Australia.

Scenic will distribute the 2018/19 preview brochure, including the full range of 18 itineraries and limited preview pricing, to travel agents across Australia. It will also be available online in Australia only. The ship will open for sale in the UK at the end of February. We are still waiting to hear when it will be available for sale in the U.S.

The six-star, 228-passenger ship has the highest passenger ship ice-class rating – 1A Super. Scenic Eclipse also features a seven-person submarine and two on-board, twin engine helicopters, enabling passengers to explore previously inaccessible areas of the Arctic and Antarctica.

Launching on August 31, 2018, the ship’s maiden voyage will take it from Istanbul to Venice before sailing to The Americas; Antarctica; Europe and the Mediterranean; and the Arctic and Norwegian Fjords.

Preview prices range from AUD $7,995pp for a verandah cabin on the seven-day Panama, Colombia & Ecuador Discovery, to an eye-watering AUD $91,295pp for a two-bedroom penthouse on the 22-Day Ultimate Chilean Fjords & Antarctica. Prospective passengers can chose from itineraries including:

Antarctica

A range of itineraries exploring Antarctica – where passengers can experience a Zodiac whale-watching expedition; South Georgia; and the Falkland Islands.
