Carnival Cruise Line's Cheers Program to Include Pricier Drinks, More Nonalcoholic Options

(7:15 p.m. EST) — Carnival Cruise Line has changed its Cheers! all-inclusive beverage package to include more expensive mixed drinks and liquors and has added more nonalcoholic selections.

In a statement, Carnival said the price — $49.95 per person, per day, if booked in advance or $54.95 per person, per day, if booked onboard — will stay the same, but passengers will now be able to order mixed drinks, beer, wine and spirits valued at $50 or less each. Previously, the value limit was $10 per drink.

Additionally, nonalcoholic beverages featured in the package now include soda, mocktails, energy drinks, specialty coffees and teas served shipwide, most bottled water, PowerAde, Vitamin Water, coconut water and Honest Tea.

Discounts of 25 percent on wine and Champagne by the bottle, beverage classes and seminars, and drinks costing more than $50 each will be available to package-holders.

As with the previous program, a limit of 15 alcoholic drinks per person applies during each 24-hour period, and if one person in a cabin purchases the package, all others (21 years of age and older) staying in that cabin must also purchase it.
