(1:25 p.m. EST) — Crystal Cruises has been forced to cancel several itineraries on Crystal Esprit’s maiden voyage due to «technical upgrades».
The 62-passenger yacht – which is a refurbishment of a 20-year-old vessel — will have the following itineraries cancelled:
- March 26 to April 3 — Aqaba to Limassol, Cyprus
- April 3 – April 10 — Limassol to Athens/Piraeus, Greece
- April 10 to April 17 — Athens/Piraeus to Dubrovnik, Croatia
Crystal Cruises has confirmed that Crystal Esprit voyages will continue as planned from April 17, 2016, with a 7-day sailing from Dubrovnik to Venice, Italy.
News of the cancellation first surfaced on Cruise Critic’s Message Boards yesterday, with members being informed that the «technical upgrades» were to do with the air-conditioning onboard.
Christened in the Seychelles, the 62-passenger, all-suite yacht features multiple dining venues, bars and an aft marina, with complimentary kayaks, jet skis, and fishing and snorkeling equipment. It also carries a small submarine.
