(2:42 p.m. GMT) — Thomson Cruises will return to the UK next year with a series of cruises departing Newcastle.
The line will base Thomson Celebration in Newcastle throughout summer 2017.
The 1,254-passenger ship will offer four to 14-night itineraries to the Norwegian Fjords, Scandinavia and the Baltics, including Copenhagen, Stockholm, St Petersburg, as well as Iceland.
It is the first time Thomson has based a ship in the UK since 2014.
Managing Director of Thomson Cruises, Helen Caron, said: «I’m excited to reveal the re-introduction of ex-UK cruising to our programme in 2017. This will open up even more destinations for our customers, giving them the opportunity to create truly memorable experiences.»
Thomson is the second line to announce a UK return next year — in January Norwegian Cruise Line announced it will base Norwegian Spirit in Southampton throughout next summer.
