Seabourn Encore Cruise Ship Floats Out for First Time

(10:00 a.m. EST) — Seabourn’s newest ship, Seabourn Encore, touched water for the first time last week in its "float out" ceremony. At the Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera, Italy, "madrina" Marnie Tihany — wife of Encore’s interior designer, Adam D. Tihany — cut the cord to start water flow to the ship’s building dock. The ship will now undergo final construction, prior to its delivery in December 2016. Modelled on Seabourn’s Odyssey-class ships, Encore will boast one additional deck, expanded public areas and Seabourn’s luxurious interior design. The ship will also feature 300 cabins, with veranda suites as standard, and will carry 600 passengers.
