New ship Carnival Vista will be the first in Carnival Cruise Line’s fleet to offer the Seafood Shack — a take on roadside seafood found throughout New England. Serving items like lobster rolls, steamed shrimp and crab cakes, this for-fee eatery offers both indoor and outdoor seating, as does Bonsai Sushi, also found onboard. Additionally, passengers can snag milkshakes at the Shake Spot and Cuban-inspired drinks and nibbles at the Havana Bar; both venues debuted on Carnival Sunshine.
Expedition cruise line Lindblad will now have a partnership with the World Wildlife Fund through its acquisition of Natural Habitat, an adventure travel and ecotourism company based in Boulder, Colorado. The $20 million acquisition of Natural Habitat, also called Nat Hab, means that a partnership with the WWF has been extended to December 31, 2023. Nat Hab has been partners with the WWF since 2003. Nat Hab’s collection of tours, such as Alaskan grizzly bear adventures or small-group African safaris, will allow Lindblad to expand its variety of excursions that focus on responsible travel and conservation.
Luxury line Seabourn has expanded its partnership with Swarovski Optik, a division of Swarovski Group, by outfitting Seabourn Sojourn, Seabourn Odyssey and Seabourn Encore with high-quality binoculars and spotting scopes. The partnership began two years ago when the company provided Seabourn with optical equipment for Seabourn’s Ventures by Seabourn program on Antarctica and Patagonia sailings on Seabourn Quest, which will continue to use the equipment.
